Founding Story & Editorial Commitment
Restwise started because our founder, a former health desk journalist, kept noticing the same recycled sleep advice copied across dozens of sites aimed at men, none of it traceable to an actual person. The goal was simple: write about sleep and recovery the way a proper newsroom would, with named sources and real fact-checking.
We built a small team of writers with health journalism backgrounds and set a rule that every long-form article needs at least one direct interview with a researcher, GP or physiotherapist before it goes to draft. A second editor reviews every piece against its sources before it's scheduled to publish.
Readers come first in how we operate. We don't take payment from brands for coverage, we list our funding openly, and if a reader flags something wrong we investigate it and post a visible correction rather than quietly editing the page.
Dr. Andrew Whitfield
"Every claim on this site has a name and a source attached to it. If a reader can't check where something came from, we haven't done our job."
Thoughtfully Researched Articles
Every piece starts with a real question from a reader or an editor, not a keyword list.
Named Writers and Reviewers
You can see exactly who wrote and who checked each article, with their background listed on the page.
Transparent Funding
We're funded by reader support and display advertising, never by brands paying for coverage.
Carefully Chosen Expert Interviews
We work with sleep researchers, GPs and physiotherapists directly rather than quoting secondhand.
Practical, Everyday Guidance
Every article ends with something a reader can actually try that night, not vague theory.
Reader Trust Commitment
If something in an article turns out to be wrong or outdated, we correct it publicly and note the change.
Named Writers & Traceable Sources
Every article carries a real byline and links back to where the information came from, so you can check it yourself. We don't publish claims we can't attribute to a person or a public source.
Public Correction Policy
If a reader flags something wrong, we look into it and update the piece within 30 days, with a visible note on what changed. We don't quietly edit mistakes away.
Direct Reader Contact
Every message through our contact form reaches a real editor, not a queue. We reply directly and often use those questions to plan future articles.
